It has been a busy few months for the Local HERO Foundation’s medevac helicopter, HERO 1. Since receiving Transport Canada approval to begin night operations on December 19th, 2013 HERO 1 has been dispatched 25 times. Reinforcing the need for a medevac helicopter available 24/7 is the fact that 7 of the medevac flights have been at night. While donations have begun to come in, the Local HERO Foundation still requires much more funding to ensure the future of the program.
